There has been a return of buyers from Europe and the U.S. however purchasing power has not recovered yet. There were only a few successful transactions for prompt and short-term shipments. There was virtually no demand for cashew kernels for the first quarter of 2027.
Cashew kernel offer prices have not shown any signs of stabilizing. Offer prices from factories for the same quality vary by 5–10 cents per pound. Currently, the price of WW320 is fluctuating from $3.15 - $3.25/lb.
The domestic market is also quite. Big trading companies are still temporarily suspending purchases cashew nut. Sellers are expecting the market to recover in October, when Chinese buyers finish their National Day holiday.
In the first half of September, Vietnam exported approximately 28,000 tons of cashew kernels, valued at around $203 million, and imported about 191,200 tons of raw materials, valued at approximately $196 million.
Tanzania will start to auction the 2026/2027 new crop raw material on 19th October 2026.
