The cashew market is very desolated due to weak purchasing power. There are only a few buyers in the market.
Domestic cashew prices have unexpectedly increased since mid-July. Compared to the first week of July, the purchase price of W320 cashew nuts has been adjusted up by more than 10 cents/lb by trading companies. For this reason, the export price has also increased accordingly. Currently, the offer price of WW320 from BRC packers is still maintained from $3.10 - $3.15/lb.
The price of raw materials continues to increase. Compared to the beginning of the month, the price of raw materials has increased about 50 usd/ton. Manufacturers said that the current raw material prices are unreasonable.
In the first half of July, Vietnam exported about 29,600 tons of cashew nuts and imported about 135,200 tons of raw cashew nuts. As from January 2025 to middle of July 2025, the total amount of raw cashew nut imported by Vietnam was about 1,722,000 tons and the total amount of cashew nuts exported was about 374,000 tons.
Currently, African raw materials are being offered in Vietnam as follows:
• Guinea Bissau: 1,650usd/ton, 52 lbs outturn, 215 nuts
• IVC: 1,560usd/ton, 48lbs outturn, 200 – 210 nuts
• Ghana: 1,500usd/ton, 47lbs outturn, 200 nuts
