The number of cashew nuts offers is decreasing. Many sellers have also stopped offering their goods to observe market developments. There are concerns that all costs will increase due to the recent sharp rise in world oil prices because of the war in Iran. Currently, the average oil price in Vietnam has increased by 20-22% compared to the average price in February.
In contrast to the cashew kernel market, raw cashew prices are being offered at higher prices. Currently, the price of Vietnamese raw cashew material is being offered from $1,580 to $1,630/ton, 52-53 lbs outturn.
The conflict in the Middle East remains complex. Currently, all shipping companies have announced a temporary suspension of all voyages to the Middle East until further notice. In additional, a mandatory surcharge of about 700 USD - 800 USD/container will apply to all affected shipments, without exception, to cover deviation costs.
